Update on Katie’s Dad

This is an update from the story I shared with you about Katie’s Dad. Katie was the bride whose wedding I photographed a couple weekends ago, and they did a ceremony in the hospital with her dad, who had recently been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. If you haven’t read about it, you can find it here.

I got an email from Katie’s Mom on Tuesday, and she shared with me that Bill (Katie’s dad) passed away last Tuesday. She said that Katie and Tyler came home from their honeymoon early because he was not doing well, and when they returned, he told Katie it was time for him to go. Friends and family surrounded him as they prayed and read Psalms, before he was taken off his breathing machine. He was ushered into God’s presence surrounded by prayer.  Katie has incredible faith, she says that though this is hard, she can already see God’s hand in it. Please continue to lift this family up in prayer as the next few weeks, months, and years will be difficult ones. I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to get to know this incredible family, and I am so grateful that Katie’s Dad was able to experience her wedding day.
