Kansas City Wedding Photographer: Beth & Ryan Part I

Beth never imagined herself falling in love with a man from Des Moines, as she is a Kansas-City-girl through and through. But when Ryan entered her life, it wasn’t too long before he won her over and she moved to Des Moines to be near him. I’ve loved being able to get to know Beth & Ryan leading up to their wedding, and it’s clear to me that they truly are a perfect match for each other. As you’ll see from the photos, Ryan absolutely adores Beth, and Beth lights up in his presence. Their wedding day was packed with beauty, joy and celebration, just the way they had imagined it to be:)

The beautification process began at the gorgeous Intercontinental Hotel near the Plaza.

Her Lis Simon wedding gown was like a dream. All those feminine ruffles and a little bling…perfection!
Beth braved these gorgeous, SUPER high Jimmy Choo heels!
Beth, you were radiantly beautiful!!
Stay tuned for part II of their wedding story tomorrow!

Rock the Parkway Recap

I survived my 2nd ever half marathon! I finished with a time of 1:50, which I am very pleased with…but at the same time I knew I could have shaved at least a couple minutes off that! I kept a strong, steady pace until I slowed way down up a big hill about half way through, and just couldn’t get back up to my normal speed. Around mile 11, I caved in. I walked!!! With only 2 miles left! So silly, but I really must have thought I wouldn’t survive if I didn’t walk! Overall it was a great race, and I am so excited to do another one sometime!

I finished 44th out of 464 in my age division (25-29 year old females) and 624th place out of 4,015 runners. The best part about the race was running with that many people! I was amazed to look at the results to see that if I had finished only one minute earlier, I would have been ahead of over a hundred runners! How crazy is that?!

And to leave you with a couple pictures…our backyard has bloomed into a beautiful place. That’s a fun perk about buying a house in March – we had no idea what sorts of things with pop with life in a couple months! And Max, well, he’s just so photogenic:)
