October Self-Portrait

I just snuck this month’s self portrait just in the nick of time! I was hoping to have all sorts of beautiful, expressive words with this post to convey my love for the fall…but I’ve had such a full past few days that I feel my brain is fried. I’ve been sitting at this computer for a while now, and no grand, deep thoughts have come to mind. So I shall simply say that every time fall rolls around, it’s more delightful than I ever imagined possible!

Where does this picture come in? Well, I live in Roeland, Kansas and they have a very strange yet wonderful rule: rake or blow leaves from the yard into the street and a street-cleaning thingamajig comes and sucks them up! “You’re serious, right?!” was my initial reaction. I’ve never heard of such a thing! So, this is my first go-through at our very large amount of leaves in our front yard. Pretty simple to get the front yard leaves to the street but the back yard will be a different story!
