Ken & Natalie: Farmyard Wedding Part II

I’m so glad you joined us for part two of this gorgeous farmyard wedding! I confess that I am posting way too many photos, but there was so much beauty and details on their wedding day that I can’t resist!

Let’s start right where we left off yesterday: portrait time! The photos on the left and middle below were captured by my talented second shooter, Ginger:

I have a new love for wedding portraits in orchards. There is something about it that is so romantic!
Left photo below by Ginger.
I forgot to mention in the first post that it rained all morning, but right before the time for Ken & Natalie’s first look, the rain stopped and sun came out! We were so fortunate to have overcast skies but no rain during portrait time. Notice, however, the large thunder cloud approaching in the photo below!
While I took photos of Natalie, Ginger captured some great shots of Ken:
This was one of the most fun bridal parties! You guys were a blast!
Right before family photos, the rain came! It poured for about an hour, and everyone was worried that the wedding & reception would have to be moved inside. The rain stopped an hour before the wedding, and Ginger documented the clouds and sun peeking through! It was incredible!
Because it rained during the family portrait time, I opted to take group photos on the front porch, with a speedlight and umbrella to provide additional light. An example of working with the weather I’m given on a wedding day!
Now for some reception details as everything was getting all set up…lots and lots of pies! All homemade! MmmMmm!
After the storm rolled away, we just had to get some shots with Natalie’s super cool umbrella! LOVE these!
Natalie did a superb job on all the details:
Ken sang the processional song, which was SO great!!
I love the emotion in this one – the moments between Natalie and her dad were so precious.
Laughter and tears: themes of their ceremony:)
Sweet kiss shot captured by Ginger – isn’t her veil just perfect?!
Now for the first time…Mr. and Mrs. Simerly!!!!
Sweet moments between the newlyweds right after they exited the ceremony. By Ginger:
The reception kicked off with Ken singing “When I say I Do” by Matthew West to his beautiful new bride, as a way to even more confirm his vows to her!
Their dance was a true party! A very lively celebration!
Congratulations again, Ken & Natalie! Thank you for trusting me to capture the memories of your day. You are a lovely, full-of-character, beautiful, inspiring couple with a contagious love for each other and Jesus Christ! Cheers to you!!
