  • Hello and welcome to my blog! My website is where you will get a feel for my work as a wedding photographer, pricing information, and other details, but this blog is where I get to share my life with you. I'll be sharing things I learn, things that make me laugh, things that inspire me, things that frustrate me, the joys of being a newlywed, the sweet love stories of my clients and so much more!

I am a Kansas City wedding photographer; contact me for more information regarding your wedding day.

It’s here!

Things look a little bit different around here, huh?!

Today is the exciting day I get to launch the new look and branding of Allison Marie Photography! A few months back, I began to be quite tired of my website. It was nice, but simply not as professional and full-of-life-and-personality as I would like it to have…which makes sense since I designed it myself and I am NOT at all a designer!!:)I discovered Tiffany Kelley through showit, as they featured her newly designed website. I noticed that she is also a freelance designer, so I contacted her right away. Once I started dreaming about my new website, I took a good, long look at my logo and decided it just isn’t doing it for me. It doesn’t inspire me, and I feel it doesn’t reflect my brand as I’d like it to. So, the fabulous Tiffany ended up designing for me a new logo, website AND blog! She did an absolutely outstanding job, and I could not be more happy with the way it all came together!

The past few years have been so exciting to see my business and brand morph into what it is today. It took me much exploring to discover who I am as a photographer, what styles reflect my personality best, and what types of clients are ideal for me. I believe branding is crucial to the success of a business, so I knew I needed some help. To give you a look back to the past, this was my original, homemade logo when my business began in 2009:

Cute, right!? Yes, but not exactly the word I would to be used to summarize my style! My last logo was much more professional and classy:

But after using it for a year, I didn’t find myself inspired by it. It feels way too “polished”, and I had a really hard time using it within marketing materialsand forms, due to the border and lines. SO here is the beautiful new logo!

I love how it’s not at all what I had in mind, but it’s just perfect! In the design process, Tiffany had me fill out a form with questions about my business and my style. One question was to list five words that describe my brand and my project’s desired look and feel, and the five I chose were: “clean, organic, classy, personal, and with vintage flare.”

One thing I had mentioned was that my own wedding was a perfect description of my style, and the “feel” I wanted for my new look. Burlap, cotton, lace…organic, rustic textures! I LOVE how Tiffany incorporated the cotton theme into the design of my logo, and the textures into my new blog and website!

And for my website…hop on over to www.allisonmariephotography.com and check it out!

There are new exciting features, so stay a while! Do you recognize the patterned background on some of the pages?!:)

Once I got my logo finalized, and my website was underway, I was inspired to create my new DVD packaging to match. I just adore the end result!

I had Sarah at Permanent Collection print my lovely new letterpress business cards. Sarah is a wonderful person, and is also a very talented designer! She is ready to have a baby soon, and after her little one arrives, I will be featuring her on my blog!

So there you have it…the new look!

Please leave me a comment on what you think of the new look! I am SO excited to begin this 2011 wedding season with a look that completely, 100% fits me, my style & my vision of photography!

I LOVE IT! I thought it looked great before but this is stunning! I can totally see how your wedding influenced the design. You are one photographer that’s going to be hard for the competition to keep up with :)
