Featured in the Luxe Showcase

LUXE: defined as “richness, elegance and luxury.”

I am so thrilled to announce that my work is now being displayed in the Luxe Showcase, a permanent showroom of the finest Kansas City wedding vendors. It’s a part of Laura’s Couture Collection, one of the top bridal salons in the country. Laura’s Couture is designed for the sophisticated bride, with cutting edge designer wedding gowns. It has been a great joy to meet and get to know Laura, and I am so honored to be a part of  the great things that are going on at her bridal salon! If you are a bride in the beginning stages of wedding planning, you’ll want to make Laura’s Couture Collection a top priority on your list! Her gowns are gorgeous and customer service is exceptional! Even better yet, it’s your one-stop shop, as you can also design your custom engagment ring, wedding bands and wedding jewelry at Measetique,  and design your invitations at Emerson Martin, the stationary store! When you stop by, be sure to check out my corner display and flip through my sample albums. If you love what you see, let’s set up a consultation, which will conveniently take place in the office behind the Luxe Showcase!

Hilary & Clinton’s album design

Not only did I finish designing Hilary & Clinton’s 10×8 album…I also ordered myself a sample because I loved it so much! Here are a few of my favorite spreads (although there are many more!). The first and last page are each one single side, and the rest are full 20×8 spreads.

You’ve captured the wedding beautifully. I’m planning a similar wedding. Can you please share the name of the venue?

OMG! Love this!!! Do you use a special template for album design?

Photographer Product Packaging

Since my recent re-branding, I’ve been learning more and more about the importance of “the brand”. As a photographer, it’s crucial that all of my packaging, marketing materials, online presence, etc, are cohesive. My brand ought to be recognizable and memorable in its style and design elements. It has been so refreshing and exciting to have a new look that reflects both my personality and style of photography. I attended a networking luncheon the other day, and was able to exchange business cards with many different wedding vendors. When a marketing director saw and felt my letterpress business cards, she commented, “oooh, I love the vintage element of your cards!” Yes! That comment made me so thrilled with my new branding, because it communicates my style even without examples of my photos. Success!

Starting anew as a Kansas City wedding photographer has inspired me to reflect on the basics of a business. Who is my target client? How old are they? What things do they enjoy? Where do they shop? What sort of things get them really excited? How do they spend their time? What are the core values of my business? What do I hope my website, blog, packaging and marketing materials to communicate? What is the core differentiator that sets me apart from other talented wedding photographers? These are the questions that are refining who I am and how I operate my business. In this past week, I have been overcome a with a new wave of determination to be the very best business woman I can possibly be – with the purpose of serving my client well: leaving them “wow-ed!” with the service I provide and the details that make their experience with Allison Marie Photography remarkable.

Part of this refining process involves my packaging. I am thrilled with how my brand is now cohesive throughout the client experience – from the very first consultation to the receiving of their DVD post-wedding. When a client comes in for a wedding consultation, I hand them this folder with information and goodies inside:

And for my new DVD Packaging:
This is an envelope with a thank you quote on the front and informational cards inside:
The cards address these topics: referral policy, staying in touch, printing release, tips for printing and framing and a hand-written thank you note.
The DVD is cased in this luxurious leather case that comes enclosed in the black box:
And the entire thing is packaged with this personalized mailing label!
The whole ensemble: (I didn’t take new photos of my new client booklets, which I wrote about here)
If there is a certain item you love and want more information about, leave me a comment and I will get the information to you!

I really love your style and your packaging fits your brand really well. I would love to know where you got the little Stickers for the backside if the envelope with the camera in it. If you could tell me, that’d be super! Thanks, jack

Hello! Love your product packaging! I SOOO desire to be original and creative. I’m trying to find the right packaging that fits with my style and am not having much luck. I normally just have WHCC boutique package my things but am looking for something more personal and original. Would you have any starting points, suggestions, or retailers you could suggest? THANKS! Love your work!
Jess

Shelly - July 12, 2011 - 9:42 pm

I have been stalking your blog for a while now and I absolutely LOVE your style. I just wish I could get married again just so I could have you photograph our wedding :) I would love to know your sources for the DVD cases and how you print the label on the DVD? And what is written in the dvd release? I just love how you have everything put together – such a dream for me to be able to do that too!! I’d love to gobble up any and all information you’re willing to share!
Thanks! Shelly

first off, I wanted to tell you that i LOVE your work! it is amazing. I came across your website after i typed in google “packaging your photography” just to get ideas on how people package theirs because I sell my photo’s on greeting cards. I wanted to make them look nice for when i give them away as gifts and I like the style of having the plain brown paper bag envelope. I really like how you package yours. But, i was wondering where you got the brown paper bag type envelopes? If you could let me know that would be great!

Hi there!

I’ve been admiring your photography since you took my good friend Andrew’s engagement shots! You have lovely work. My sister and I love your style! We’ve actually been on a desperate search for those black cases for a dvd and cannot find them anywhere. Do you happen to remember where you order them from? It’s impossible in Maine to find things so most likely we know we’d have to order them, but even ULine didn’t seem to have what we’re looking for…any advice to fellow photographers would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the amazing work!

Christy - May 2, 2011 - 9:52 am

LOVE the look and how cohesive it all is!! I’m in the middle of working on this right now myself! Can I ask you where you get the DVD cases? I’m struggling to find something professional that I like! Thanks! xo! :)

Rachel - April 30, 2011 - 9:20 pm

It looks wonderful. I love the doily… the type on the thank you note… the “paper bag” colors and the green. It reminds me of a shower I just did decorations for. I love it.

You are very smart and God has gifted you with a lot of talents that will take you far in this industry and bless many people. It’s exciting to see your business grow and grow!

Kami - April 29, 2011 - 8:15 pm

Beautiful! I’m so jealous. This is something I just can’t seem to nail down…

Ellen - April 29, 2011 - 7:12 am

It all looks so pretty Allison!! I can’t wait to receive my package in the mail… in 6 more months!

Jennifer - April 28, 2011 - 2:07 pm

Love it! I’m probably most curious about what’s in your client consultation folder – what do you include? Also, is your thank you note/envelope a quote?

Kim Skavnak - April 28, 2011 - 12:17 pm

wondering where you get your materials printed? I love your business card and the thank you envelope!

Megan - April 28, 2011 - 8:43 am

Allison, I LOVE how cohesive your branding is – it is so very important to choose your branding wisely as it really does depict everything you do. I have a question about your DVD Release. I’m not exactly sure what to say in that release for my own clients – what they can and can’t do with the images, etc. Would you mind sharing with me what you say on that release? Thanks so much!
