Since my recent re-branding, I’ve been learning more and more about the importance of “the brand”. As a photographer, it’s crucial that all of my packaging, marketing materials, online presence, etc, are cohesive. My brand ought to be recognizable and memorable in its style and design elements. It has been so refreshing and exciting to have a new look that reflects both my personality and style of photography. I attended a networking luncheon the other day, and was able to exchange business cards with many different wedding vendors. When a marketing director saw and felt my letterpress business cards, she commented, “oooh, I love the vintage element of your cards!” Yes! That comment made me so thrilled with my new branding, because it communicates my style even without examples of my photos. Success!
Starting anew as a Kansas City wedding photographer has inspired me to reflect on the basics of a business. Who is my target client? How old are they? What things do they enjoy? Where do they shop? What sort of things get them really excited? How do they spend their time? What are the core values of my business? What do I hope my website, blog, packaging and marketing materials to communicate? What is the core differentiator that sets me apart from other talented wedding photographers? These are the questions that are refining who I am and how I operate my business. In this past week, I have been overcome a with a new wave of determination to be the very best business woman I can possibly be – with the purpose of serving my client well: leaving them “wow-ed!” with the service I provide and the details that make their experience with Allison Marie Photography remarkable.
Part of this refining process involves my packaging. I am thrilled with how my brand is now cohesive throughout the client experience – from the very first consultation to the receiving of their DVD post-wedding. When a client comes in for a wedding consultation, I hand them this folder with information and goodies inside:
And for my new DVD Packaging:
This is an envelope with a thank you quote on the front and informational cards inside:
The cards address these topics: referral policy, staying in touch, printing release, tips for printing and framing and a hand-written thank you note.
The DVD is cased in this luxurious leather case that comes enclosed in the black box:
And the entire thing is packaged with this personalized mailing label!
The whole ensemble: (I didn’t take new photos of my new client booklets, which I wrote about
here)
If there is a certain item you love and want more information about, leave me a comment and I will get the information to you!
