Well folks, spending my day in bed with strep throat was not exactly how I had hoped to start this new year. While my body regains strength, I’m working on my last two posts that look back at shots taken in 2011. I am so blessed to have worked with so many couples last year – you are all GORGEOUS and truly wonderful people!

These photos have been dying to hit the blog! I met Ashley at the bridal show in September, and from the minute I met her, I knew I was going to love working with her! She and her fiance Ryan have a spunk about them that is totally contagious. This first photo is one of the first I took all evening…it doesn’t take them any time to warm up to the camera! You two are so classy and good-lookin’! I am loving this wall! And realizing I could say, “this is one of my faves” to every photo in this post!Bottom left: one of my faves! Although they laugh a LOT, they sure can do a smokin’ serious photo!LOVE!They requested photos at their lovely home, which was such a great idea!This one below would be stunning as a large canvas print!!a little more laughter…then a little more snuggling…

And I can’t help but post these last two silly ones… leaf boutonniere anyone?!Ryan and Ashley, I cannot WAIT until your wedding in October next year! Congratulations again!

Kansas City Wedding Photographer: Jarett & Jeanette

June 11th was a typical day-in-the-life for Jeanette…but Jarett had plans that would be written in history. They are avid bikeriders, so they started off on the Katy Trail, one of their favorites. During the ride out toward Columbia, Jarett was scouting out the perfect place to stop to pop the big question. Once they turned around to head back, Jarett started speading up so much so that Jeanette was continually a little behind and getting frustrating that she was having to work so hard. Little did she know, Jarett was making sure he had time to stop at just the right spot! He pulled over to stop and once Jeanette caught up, she was confused as to why they were stopping with only a couple miles left. As he fumbled for the ring, he told her they simply needed to take a water break. He was so nervous that everything he had intented to tell her went out the window, so he finally just asked Jeanette, “Will you marry me?” Jeanette was shocked and couldn’t get her eyes off that beautiful ring! While they laughed and cried and took picutures on their phones, they were bit up by a million nasty mesquitos! They sped home, so excited to get back to announce this to everyone!

Congratulations, Jarett and Jeanette! You seriously could not be more perfect for each other, and I am SO looking forward to your wedding next year!

We started off their session at Les Bourgeois Vineyards, which is close to the start of the Katy trail, and where they stopped to enjoy some live music after Jarett’s proposal. They are a couple who needs no time to warm up in front of the camera!

You are SO beautiful, Jeanette! I could have photographed you and Jarett all day!!We ended the session at this gorgeous tunnel on the Katy trail, for memories’ sake

Chris and Megan are the type of couple who when I first met them, I felt like I had been friends with them for a long time! I first met Megan randomly at a wedding that I was 2nd shooting and she & Chris happened to be guests. Fun! They are adorable together; full of both love and laughter! I am SO excited for your wedding in January, you two! This one below on the left is one of my favorites
