One of my goals before 2012 was to begin and finish one DIY creative project. Well…I must say that was not a lofty enough goal! When I first compiled this list of goals, I was still in the thick of my FULL fall schedule, which meant I was dreaming of having time for even just one creative project! A week after I posted these goals, I had already completed two fun projects, a fall wreath and a Christmas tree:
For the wreath, I decided to go without any specific inspiration or tutorial. I hit the isles of Hobby Lobby in search of the perfect ingredients for a fall-themed wreath. I ended up gathering many stemmed flowers, a couple fall picks and burlap. I covered the base of the wreath in burlap and then simply used my glue gun to attach an assortment of artificial fall flowers. I’m pleased with the way it turned out, and it definitely brings a little extra life to our front door!
For this next project, I was inspired by this rosette tree, and created my own version!
It was such a fun (but definitely time consuming!) project, and it makes me really eager to make more decorations for Christmas this year. I have visions of Christmas tree ornaments made of felt and sheet music, garland wreaths…oh my! excited!
So what does my little succulent have to do with creative projects? Well, nothing at all. As you have noticed, I have a certain fondness for succulents! I had to include this little guy in my mini arrangement because he’s nearing his final days in this life. Needless to say, although I love plants, I don’t exactly have a green thumb!
