As a business owner, I am constantly thinking about how I can serve my clients better, and how to make their experience with me as their wedding photographer the most positive, memorable one possible. I believe it comes down to over-delivering; whether it’s taking them out to dinner to help celebrate their engagement, providing them with their images before I promised them to be done, small (but meaningful) and spontaneous gifts throughout their wedding planning months, etc. Everything that I can do for my clients that is unexpected throughout their experience with me will be extremely valuable in establishing and building up our relationship.
I write about this today because I had a really great above-and-beyond experience this past week that reminds me how important it is to let my clients know that I genuinely care about them. Last week I decided I needed a hair cut (because it had been a whopping 6 months since my last cut!!), and I decided to try out a salon near my home because the gal I typically go to is usually booked a couple weeks in advance. I called and made an appointment for 2 hours later that afternoon. I was greeted with upbeat smiles, and after meeting my hairstylist and discussing how I would like my hair trimmed, I was directed to put on a robe (a luxurious one!) and then head over to the sinks to get my hair washed. My stylist proceeded to give me the most relaxing, rejuvenating scalp massage!

She cut my hair with precision and made sure it looked just right. And before I left, she made sure I was confident with the different styling options for my new ‘do.
A great experience, right? Yes, but it didn’t stop there!
Yesterday, my stylist called me to ask how I’ve been enjoying my new cut. She asked about styling, to make sure it was easy to style and that I loved how it looked. She also asked if I have any questions or need help with anything. In my many years of going to all different salons in the different states I’ve lived, I have NEVER received a call like this! When the conversation ended, I felt geniunely taken care of, and guess what that means for me in the future? I will be heading to that salon to have that stylist cut or color my hair when I need it next!
Loyalty here I come because I was given above-and-beyond, exceptional service!
