For those of you who may be checking out my website for the first time…no, I’m not primarily a baby photographer! During this slow non-wedding season, I am working a part time job as a baby photographer for Bella Baby Photography at Mercy hospital in Des Moines. I never dreamed of finding a part-time job that allows me to do what I love!

Thursday was the busiest baby day I’ve had yet … and every baby that I photographed was really really fussy! Strange, something must’ve been going on to make them all fussy on the same day! What I love, though, is the magic power of moms. When moms come close and touch and whisper to the baby, they magically stop screaming! How do they do that?!  I’m also amazed at the beauty and perfection of babies. Every new baby I see and photograph, I am blown away at how tiny and intricate they are, and how everything in their bitty bodies works together so perfectly.  Life is truly an amazing thing!

Here are a couple of my favorites from yesterday. I LOVE this first one; the contrast of the mom’s dark hands with the baby’s skin is so beautiful. This was a mom working her magic in getting this little gal perfectly content!
