August Self-Portrait

All gear for tomorrow’s wedding is packed and ready for action. My wonderful hubby is at work and my parents are out of town, which means this beautiful new house of theirs is quiet and all mine for the afternoon. Rain is falling from the sky, and their deck is irresistibly calling my name. This past month has left me swamped with work, as I’m the thick of my busy wedding season. I love what I do so much that when the work load piles up, I have a hard time resting and truly taking a break from editing and emails, which leaves me feeling weary. I am so grateful for an afternoon of reading outside on a rainy day! Nothing leaves me more refreshed than being under a porch on a rainy afternoon with a good book!

PS. I chopped my hair a couple weeks ago and I’m still getting used to the new ‘do. Don’t let this pic fool you…because I’m looking down, it looks much longer than it actually is, and the back angles  up so it’s well off my shoulders. Way shorter than I was expecting! Oh well, change is fun, and it’ll always grow back out
