Kansas City Wedding Photographer | Vanessa + Brandon

The day Vanessa first saw Brandon during Ferrel’s, she KNEW he was the one. It was no hinderance to her that he had a girlfriend…she knew he would be hers! Their wedding & reception was held at the Temple for Performing Arts, a gorgeous venue for a wedding!

To see their engagement photos, go here.

Flowers arranged by Saley DiVine Flowers.

Cake created by Sweetest Perfections.

Vanessa’s gorgeous dress was from Storybook Weddings in Boone.

Music at reception provided by Musical Edge.

This wedding day flowed perfectly – I don’t think there was a single “hiccup” in the day! It rained all day…until right when we were done with portraits, of course! I love how Vanessa & Brandon did not let the rain stop them from getting sweet photos, even outside! Enjoy a few photos from their gorgeous day!

A fun ring shot by Anna:

Vanessa had this band of bling added to her dress to make it uniquely hers!
They choose to have a “first look” before the ceremony so we could head right to the reception after the ceremony. Their first look was so sweet!
I love that Anna captured the last few moments between Vanessa & her dad!

After the ceremony, they took a carriage ride around downtown! It was a perfect evening for it!
The STUNNING reception ballroom:
Check out this flexible little fella!
Congratulations, Vanessa & Brandon! Your wedding day was absolutely perfect; you could not have been more joy-filled!

thank you Allison for capturing the joy in the hearts of Vanessa and Brandon. We look forward to seeing the rest of the pictures!
I don’t think Tom; Vanessa’s Dad could have been any happier or prouder that day.

Rainy Day Weddings

Hello! It’s been way too long since I’ve posted! Here are some sneak peak photos from weddings the past 2 weekends. They were both really rainy days…and one of them even outside in the rain! More to come soon!

Des Moines Wedding Photographer | Jeff + Heather = Engaged!

This blog post is waaaayyyy overdue! I shot Jeff & Heather’s super fun engagement photos quite a while ago, and after I put up a sneak peak photo, I forgot to put a full post up! I’ve only been slightly busy lately. Ha! So, meet Jeff & Heather. They met on the Des Moines rowing team and they are getting married next month. From what Heather has told me, it seems like everything about their wedding will be unique and full of their personalities. I can’t wait to photograph it!

{oh and I also decided to experiment with the layout of my photos…a fun idea, but I think it’s a little too busy!}

Outdoorsey. That describes this couple really well! I love when clients bring props to sessions; it brings so much life and spunk to a shoot! Here they are in their camping gear, right next to their tent:
And what is camping without a tickle fight?!
This was such a fun idea – Jeff loves anything that has to do with trains…and Heather will never understand. Heather has a passion for art and graphic design…and Jeff just doesn’t get it! I love how this photo captures their thoughts on each other’s interests!
