It’s here!!!

Say hello to the NEW WEBSITE and new look, and goodbye to the old!!

Today is the day! You finally get to see what I have been working on for the past few months! I began the process of re-branding my business in January, and I am thrilled to announce that it is finally complete! I worked with Erin & Karen, the fabulous designers at Ephemera Design to create my new logo. Throughout that process, I learned that there are so many different styles & themes I gravitate to, and it was really hard to choose ONE style to commit to. I am grateful that my designers were patient with my indecisiveness! It would be really fun (funny, actually) to post the logo designs and tweaks leading up to this final one…but I’m going to spare myself from the laughter that would bring out from my readers! =) Let’s just say it was quite the process, and my freehand skill in Photoshop is majorly lacking! I was looking for a design with this sort of a flavor:

{that last item says “Me”, as that’s a little hard to read}

Although you can see the final product in the blog header, here is the new logo:

I am thrilled with how it turned out; I do feel it’s very “me” compared to my old one!

The next exciting thing is the NEW WEBSITE! I created it using SHOWIT, which is incredible! If you are looking to give your website a facelift, if you are tired of bland, template-looking websites, you’ve gotta check out SHOWIT! The possibilities are literally endless, which is overwhelming in a really great way! I’ll post more about SHOWIT and the process of designing a website later. For now, click the link below to check it out, and please leave me some comments & feedback on it! Can’t wait to hear what you think!

Oh, and this also is a “check!” on my 101 list – #45: Re-design my branding…check!

Love it! Even though I don’t really know you other than seeing you through your photos I would have to say that it is very you!

Senior Grad Announcements

It’s hard to believe it’s already time to order Senior Grad Announcements! These can be used as open house invitations or graduation announcements. They’re a fun way to show off your senior photos and invite friends and family to your grad party! This first photo shows examples of flat, 4×6 postcards. Each card I design is unique for you…so you don’t have to worry about your cards looking like any one else’s!

The next 3 are examples of folded 5×7 cards, and as you see, they are printed on the front, back and inside.

Clint & Leigh Ann’s Bridal Portraits

The other week, I announced that I was looking for volunteer couples who would pose for a shoot in their wedding attire. I got an immediate “ooo, pick me, pick me!” from Leigh Ann! I worked with Clint and Leigh Ann last year in with the Navigators in Albuquerque. It was perfect timing, as I flew to Albuquerque to make a quick visit the other week. The morning of our scheduled shoot, it was raining. It NEVER rains in Albuquerque. I was bummed. We called it off and we were going to have breakfast at a coffee shop instead….until Leigh Ann called to say it had stopped raining, and she was still up for it, even though it was gloomy out. Gloomy = no problem for a photographer! I was THRILLED that the rain stopped long enough for us to do the shoot!

One of my favorite spots in Albuquerque is the Casa Rodena winery. Here’s a photo I took there last spring:

SO beautiful!! What I didn’t think through was that this photo was taken in May, and this was March. For some reason, I pictured the vines to be this green in March…not the case! I actually love how the photos turned out with the brown vines! This is the most beautiful winery I’ve seen; I love the European-inspired architecture, and it would make for a stunning wedding location! So, if anyone in IA is looking to plan a destination wedding, check out the Casa Rodena Winery!!

My wonderful friend Kim came along to help, and as we were waiting for Clint and Leigh Ann, I couldn’t resist snapping a few shots of her. She is so gorgeous, and I love how these shots capture her sweet spirit. And check out her super cute yellow shoes!

Clint and Leigh Ann were so fun to photograph! I have to give Clint so many “thank you’s”, because this was not his cup o’ tea! But he did a great job! =) Check out some highlights of Clint and Leigh Ann’s ministry with the navigators on their blog here.

Leigh Ann looked so stunning in her dress! I love the detail of the back:

The one below on the right is my favorite from the whole shoot. There was a two-minute window when the sun poked out, and it created delicious light!

I told them to do something silly, and this is what happened! You guys are so fun!

Another favorite. I love how natural and sweet their expressions are.

Leigh Ann is a dancer, and she has incredible poise! This is the best dip I’ve seen a couple do yet! Her toe is pointed and all!

Thank you, Clint for getting this shot of the 3 of us afterward.  I love these women! It was a delight to spend the weekend with you, Kim and Leigh Ann!

great wedding photos in an amazing location. I believe that your choice of structures and backdrops is what has really made the photos stand out soo much more. Well done.
