Any Suggestions?

Hello! I am on the hunt for a good point-and-shoot camera. I hardly take photos at events anymore because it’s silly to whip out an enormous professional camera to a casual event…and for my “little”  point-and-shoot, it’s way too massive to toss in a purse! When I bought it years ago,  it was the top one on the market, and now it’s plain ‘ole big and bulky!

Does anyone have suggestions on a decent quality, compact camera? Add a comment and cast your vote!

And because a post is always better with a photo, here’s one of my faves. I took this at Snow Mountain Ranch in Colorado last month:

i have a canon powershot sd1000 and i love it! it’s 7.1MP with a 3x zoom lens, and it takes decent video too. it’s cute and sleek and tiny and clean … pretty much awesome.

I use a Sony Cybershot for my point and shoot because I don’t like to take out my big camera either! I love the quality photos it takes and it is so small and compact and I can bring it anywhere!

My hubby and I inherited a Canon PowerShot from his mom last year and we LOVE it for little stuff. I highly recommend that line! :)

I actually just bought a new point and shoot – the Canon Powershot. I’ve been really happy with it so far, and it has 12 MP and 4x optical zoom. And that’s about the extent of my camera knowledge!!

I only know this information because my brother, who over researches his purchases, has been looking at getting a digital camera. The main thing he has found is that with the basic cameras, the only brand that still has a view finder (as well as the screen on the back) is Canon. Which I suppose doesn’t make much difference if you’re never going to shoot outside in broad daylight. Hope that helps.

Merry Christmas!

I want to shout out a special “Merry Christmas!” to all my wonderful clients from this past year. Thank you so much for allowing me to follow after my passion and do what I love most! It was a great year; you were a blast to work with! I wish you the best in all that this next year has in store for you. Don’t be strangers - I’d love to stay updated on what’s going on in your lives!

Have a very blessed Christmas day!

I really love…

Headbands. I have always loved headbands…when other people wear them, that is. You see, I have this problem. Headbands look ridiculous on me. I remember telling this to my college roommates, and when they didn’t believe me, I put one on for them and what was their reaction? They LAUGHED! Now, I would never consider myself to have large ears, but there’s something about a headband that makes my ears stick out so that I suddenly take on a monkey-like appearance. Either that or the look of a “i-don’t-quite-fit-into-my-own-skin-middle-school-er”!

I was at Jordan Creek Mall today, on the hunt for some unique stocking stuffers. I went into Claire’s, a store I haven’t shopped in since those awkward middle school days…but I thought there could be potential there. I found myself standing in front of a wall of headbands, wishing I could pull one off. I tried one on (no, I’m not one of those who puts things on my head and then puts them back on the shelf! By doing this, I knew I was forced to buy it!) and the strangest thing happened. I liked it! No way! I bought the headband and left the store, feeling like I had just entered a new phase of life. Until I got home. One thing that has always been perplexing to me  is how I could love something in a store, but then have it fit totally differently when I get home. Anyone with me on this one? I put the headband on when I got home and guess what happened? I looked like a monkey. I really think mirrors in a mall have extra-flattering qualities to them or something!

Since I now have my very own a headband, I just might try wearing it out of the house sometime. If you happen to see me on this day, please don’t laugh if you mistake me for a monkey. Just kindly whisper to me that I ought to rethink wearing it in public! =)

It looks cute. Wish they did not give me headaches! :)

Okay….so I am related, I’m your aunt. I love headbands on everyone but me. I have always thought they make my ears look superbig….more like elephant ears than monkey ears. So, I will just pass on the headbands too!–unless they are on someone else. Funny, huh?

Aw I like that headband – I’m sure it looks gorgeous on you:) I know what you mean though – headbands and I, well we don’t mix well:)
