Brandon & Allison: Engaged!

dsc_5455
I knew from the moment Brandon & Allison stepped into my studio for a wedding consultation that I would love working with them! Allison and I seem to have so much in common, which makes working with them so fun. They have known each other for many, many years, and have been dating the past 6 years!!! Wow! They have a crazy amount of joy being together; it’s obvious that they are a perfect fit for each other. Enjoy their photos!

I love this – Allison cannot contain the love she has for her honey, as it’s written all over her face!

I really love…

…A big bowl of fresh berries! I spent the past week at my parents’ condo in Granby, Colorado (which you will hear more about soon!), and I hit the jackpot with blackberries! I love the way they bring a little bit of summertime to a cold, fall day. These berries were monstrous and crisp and packed with delicious-ness!

I decided to do a little research on blackberries, and I discovered they have a history of many uses. European blackberry juice was used to treat infections of the mouth and eyes (can you imagine having blackberry juice in your eyes?!). They were also used to aid in toothache relief, to stop vomiting and to remedy dysentery. There is also research that regular consumption of blackberries may prevent several types of cancer, lung inflammation,  cardiovascular diseases, and diabetes. It does make me wonder, though, how many blackberries one would have to eat for them to have these benefits! =) I had no idea this little, sweet fruit could have so many uses!

Introducing to Des Moines…

Bella Baby Photography! This is a company that works in hospitals to provide gorgeous photos for Moms and Dads of their new born baby! Bella first began in 2006, and is currently in hospitals all across the US! Bella brings freelance photographers into the hospitals to capture a baby’s first photographs with natural, artistic style. Say goodbye to stiff, boring hospital photos and say hello to beautiful Bella Photos!  I have the joy of being a part of the Bella team  at Mercy Medical Clinic in Des Moines, and it has been such a rewarding experience!

If you know women who are preparing to have a baby, introduce them to Bella Baby! We love it when Moms and Dads come prepared with special blankets/headbands for the photos, as this makes their photos even more unique! Here is a sampling of images I have taken so far:
